Rv. Fr. Vincenzo Ida Children’s Home, Batangas

September 29, 2022 – Rev. Fr. Vincenzo Ida Children’s Home

The best early Christmas present is the first set of books to ever arrive at a children’s home in Rosario, Batangas! Throughout this year, JCI Lipa has worked incredibly hard to build a playground at the Rev. Fr. Vincenzo Ida Children’s Home. The Missionary Sisters of the Catechism, who run this orphanage with compassion, play a vital role in providing care for children in CALABARZON who have been neglected, orphaned, abandoned, surrendered, or foundlings.

To provide holistic development for the children, JCI Lipa did not just stop at a playground; they sought out means to promote literacy and art through “KinaBOOKasan: A Book Donation Project”. They surprised the nuns, teenagers, toddlers, and infants with their first-ever bookshelves and CANVAS hardcover books!

The children were awestruck seeing the books put on display. They were excited to open them, even expressing their intention to binge-read their new books!

As they are nurtured by the loving adults around them—now paired with their new books—the KinaBOOKasan kids can grow up with compassion and imagination. We are grateful that our books get to play a part in that through this partnership.
