Quezon City — United Overseas Bank Limited, Manila Branch formally presented a donation to the Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development (CANVAS) at If Trees Could Talk and Bukal Sining: Roots and Wings on November 20, 2025. This twofold exhibition was held at UP Fine Arts Gallery.
United Overseas Bank (UOB) raised PhP100,000 through Heartbeat. Heartbeat is UOB’s corporate social responsibility program focusing on art, children, and education. This program’s fundraising and outreach initiatives bring employees and business partners together to give back to the community and support UOB’s advocacies.
This year, UOB Manila Branch chose CANVAS as its beneficiary for the third time in a row. Donated funds to CANVAS will be used to support the One Million Books for One Million Filipino Children campaign. This campaign donates children’s books published by CANVAS to public schools and communities across the country.
The turnover was held in front of the Bukal Sining: Roots and Wings exhibit. Mr. Arthur Chung, Country Manager of UOB Manila Branch handed the check to Atty. Gigo Alampay, Executive Director of CANVAS.
CANVAS expresses its deep gratitude for the generous donation and for the growing partnership in making art and stories accessible to every Filipino child.
