AJA Law celebrates anniversary through a heartfelt book-giving to Bahay Aruga

December 19, 2025 — Ermita Manila

Alcantara-Joaquino-Alcantara Law, also known as AJA Law, partnered with the Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development for an outreach event marking their fifth anniversary. This is the third year in a row that we’ve teamed up for a book-giving event, and this year, we visited Bahay Aruga, a halfway house for pediatric cancer patients.

Due to health and safety restrictions, we held a simple program. Representatives from AJA Law and CANVAS spoke about their hopes that the books, supplies, and lunches would make for a meaningful day for the patients.

Jean Bonilla-Bernardo, a board member of Bahay Aruga, gave us visitors a picture of what their organization does. Their doors have welcomed both pediatric and adult cancer patients in need of treatment and a place to stay within proximity of hospitals. The staff of Bahay Aruga also encourages them to paint, and their artworks are available for sale. Proceeds go to the artist and their treatments.

Thank you to AJA Law for partnering with us for the third year in a row for your anniversary celebration! We also thank Bahay Aruga for welcoming us during the busy holiday season.
