CANVAS and San Miguel to develop children’s book about road safety
Mandaluyong City — The Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development (CANVAS) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with San Miguel Holdings Corporation (SMHC) and San Miguel Foundation (SMF) for a book development partnership. The signing ceremony was held on June 18, 2026 morning at the San Miguel Corporation Head Office. This partnership aims to publish a children’s book about road safety.
The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by CANVAS Executive Director Atty. Gigo Alampay, SMHC Chief Finance Officer & Treasury Head Raoul Eduardo Romulo, SMHC Head of Corporate Affairs Atty. Melisa Encanto-Tagarda, and SMF Executive Director Maria Raquel Paula Lichauco. The ceremony was witnessed by staff from all parties.
This partnership aims to publish 3,000 copies of the children’s book to be developed. The books will be donated to different schools under San Miguel Corporation’s Tamang Asal sa Kalsada (T.A.S.K.) Program. These efforts align with and support CANVAS’ One Million Books for One Million Filipino Children campaign. The book is targeted for release in the second quarter of 2027.
