Trial and Perseverance
by Becky Bravo
Up these winding stairs I go
until I reach the top.
Here it twists and there it bends
but I walk on
and I march on.
Every loop and snarl I navigate
serves to make me whole.
Every twist and every turn
renews my soul.
I feel a better me emerge
the higher up I go.
Step by step,
breath by breath,
I must go on,
However much I falter,
however much my pain;
If I should stumble,
if I should fall,
I'll find my feet again.
