About Reflections on Red
In "Reflections on Red," CANVAS sought to create yet another opportunity for Filipino art and literature to interact.

Here, Michael Cacnio renders social commentary by depicting ills and concerns such as crab mentality and corruption while he also parlays triumphs of the human spirit with his metaphorical brass pieces like "trial and perseverance" and "man and nature." All the sculptures, for the first time, incorporated the color red.

Each piece was then accompanied by original short stories, poems, or other writings inspired by the sculptures, from members of Kuwentista ng mga Tsikiting (KUTING), the premier association of Filipino children's storywriters.
